With everyone across the world Working from Home and seemingly using Zoom meetings for everything, it'd be great if Zoom could be quickly added to the application list.

Thanks.

Howdy,

Minor request but something that I'd find really useful.  Any chance the log file could include the current version of each piece of software as well as the version that it's upgrading to?  It'd be helpful if I run into an issue with a new version so I'd know what version I could go back to to try to resolve any issues.

And when running PMPC on a machine I haven't used for a while, it'd be good to know just how out of date something was.

Thanks.

I don't see an Advanced Tab.  Where do I find it?

I looked under Options but didn't find anything about a Proxy setting and don't see an Advanced section.

Thanks.

Howdy,

PMCP works great but we are removing Admin rights from our users so I need a way to run it as the System (or some other built in) account.  When I try to do so, I get an error in the log stating:

Unable to connection to patchmypc.com. Please verify you have internet connection And try to browse to https://patchmypc.com. Error: Error creating the Web Proxy specified in the 'system.net/defaultProxy' configuration section.

We use Cisco Umbrella as our Proxy so when it runs under the System account, it can't get to the internet.  I'm not sure what it's referring to with the 'system.net/defaultproxy' stuff but am wondering if I can code a Proxy value into a config/ini file somewhere or how else I could tell the program to use a specific proxy when it runs.

Or if anyone has any other ideas on other options I might have, I'd be open to other thoughts.

Thanks!

Hi,

We noticed that we have a number of users with both the 32 and 64 bit versions of 7Zip & Firefox installed.  When they run PMPC, it shows the outdated version in red but doesn't flag it to be updated.

For both of these, the x86 version got updated but the x64 version did not.

I don't know about anyone else but when looking at the PMPC log file I would fine it immensely helpful if it would list the current version of the software that it finds it needs to update.

Currently it tells me what program it found to update and what the new version is, but it doesn't list the current version so I can't tell how old a piece of software was to know how much it changed.  If it's easy to add a single link to the log file for each program that says something like

For example:

Howdy,

Two issues.
1) We noticed we had a couple computers with outdated versions of Firefox.  When I checked their PMPC log it showed it had updated Firefox a couple weeks ago.  When I checked actual PMPC it showed the 32 bit version was installed and at 59.0.02 and the 64 bit version was installed but only at 57.0.  However, it says No Apps to Install

2) Audacity doesn't seem to update correctly.  It seems to install the new version but not remove the old version.  Add/Remove programs then lists them both but they act strange when you try to uninstall them.  I had this exact same problem, with these same two versions, on a different laptop the other day as well.

See attached.

Thanks.

It's not listed in the standard "Uninstall or change a program" window.  Unless maybe there's a file somewhere so it thinks it's installed.

When I type it into the Start screen it only finds one instance which is the v2.7 version.

Not a big deal, just strange...

Here's the two lines for RDCMan

I ran PMPC today and found this on one of my machines.  For some reason it is listing RDCMan twice.  One shows as out of date and the other as current.  When I check add/remove programs, it only shows the current one.  Not sure what it's detecting as the out of date one but just thought I'd post this in case it's something someone wants to look into.  Let me know if I can provide any other information.

Thanks.

Yeah, we just have a group policy that sets the registry keys and creates a scheduled task on every computer so we can manage it that way.

Looks like it worked.

I don't see anything in the registry regarding the Auto Clsoe apps.  I only see the Download Path, the Skip entries for things we don't want to update, and the Visible_Panel  items.
#14
I got the updated version but now I'm back to the original error stating:
3/19/2018 11:56:32 AM - Skipping install for Mozilla Firefox 59.0.1 (x86) because Firefox.exe is running and auto close apps isn't enabled during

instead of the one from earlier today that said:
3/19/2018 9:47:37 AM - Patch My PC Updater is running in silent mode skipping install of: Mozilla Firefox 59.0.1 (x86) since silent installation disabled for this application
#15
Ah, I didn't notice my error actually changed and now says Silent Mode is disabled instead of that it couldn't close the app

When I run the program manually and right click Firefox, nothing is set to disabled.
