Unhandled exception upon telling the program to perform updates
« on: December 18, 2021, 09:15:41 AM »
I was trying to update programs that included:

  • 7-Zip
  • the Everything search tool
  • VLC

but I think that trying to update any program throws the error.

Crashdump (which includes my PatchMyPc version):

Code: [Select]
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Windows 10 Pro - 21H1 (2009: 19043)

PS: The tool on this forum to apply bullets to one's text does not work as one expects (though I got it to work eventually).

Strangely, that information seems to be missing from the dump that I posted.
