************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Could you try to repair Microsoft .NET framework and see if that helps?

same here. I already tried to uncheck and check the default .net framework packages from "install features", I already run "sfc /scannow" and also I tried to repair the .net framework 7, but nothing changed.

I have the following .net framework packages installed:

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the publisher on there?

Jaap

I have the same problem after upgrading to Windows 11. Under Windows 10, PatchMyPC worked fine. I have .NET Framework installed, just like the other users in this thread. I would *highly* appreciate a fix for this problem.

Regards, Jaap.

David Courtel (Patch My PC)

Hi Jaap, what release of PMPC are you using? The latest is 4.5.0.4 and works fine on Windows 11.

Jaap

Hello David, thanks for replying. It's 4.5.0.4, but still, I get the error numerous users here have mentioned from Microsoft .NET Framework.

Can you try to repair your .Net Framework installation using this article: Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool

What do you mean by "the publisher"?

Justin Chalfant (Patch My PC)

Our product PMPC is commonly referenced as "publisher  "

I'm using the portable version. It auto update itself regularly.

Wes Mitchell

You are using the Home Updater, which is the free version.  It is a portable app and runs seamlessly, if you are having issues then it is caused by your OS upgrade.  You will need to repair your .Net Framework installation using this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/microsoft-net-framework-repair-tool-is-available-942a01e3-5b8b-7abb-c166-c34a2f4b612a

Hi, I already ran that but didn't work

Spencer (Patch My PC)

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out on the forum! For those still affected by this, have you tried to redownload the latest version of the PMPC Publisher to see if that resolves any issues? Have you also tried running the portable version from another windows 11 device and do you see the same error?

Can you also try to run the DISM command to repair any corrupt files:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
