Dear Folks,

First of all, thank you very much for providing us Home Admins with such a wonderful and useful program for free. It is highly appreciated!

I have been using PMPC for many years and install it on every Windows setup I perform. It has saved me a lot of time and resources.

In my humble opinion, some people feel the need to reinvent the wheel constantly because they think users need this. In this case, it may not be entirely true, but some parts of the new program feel like a reinvention, even though the predecessor was very good.

I have read some of the comments and suggestions and would like to add the following:

    - There are issues with font sizes and overlapping text.

    - The ergonomics are worse than in V4.X, although it looks quite nice.

    - I do not feel that the language detection works adequately. An updated version of
Firefox appeared in English (although it could be set to German in Firefox settings),
while V4.X automatically installed the German version when German was selected in the
settings page. However, I could not fully test it because...

    - ...the main issue: The program only worked _once_. On the second and all subsequent
attempts to launch it, the program crashed completely during the detection phase.

As a result, I had to uninstall it, and the laptop (a Lenovo T Series, which is working perfectly and fully patched) will now get the 4.X version to be passed on to my cousin.

Thank you once again for your care and your hard work!

Warm regards from Germany,

We Joe,

We would need to check out the logs at C:\ProgramData\PatchMyPCHomeUpdater and see any logs you may be seeing in Windows Event viewer to be of help.

Hi Justin,

many thanks for taking the time to reply, but I don't possess that notebook anymore, it went to one of my cousins. Installed V4, so in the future it will update and run fine I'm sure.

Warm regards from Germany
Joe
