Hi, I see the 5.x version is not supported on Windows 7.
What is the last versions that is, and could
I get a link to it?
Thank you.

Hi @ChuckM6421, I'm afraid we don't support older versions of Home Updater anymore. As you probably know, the Windows 7 operating system has been unsupported for quite some time now, and as such, our products no longer support it either.

Thank you for the reply.

I understand you don't support it, and I'm not looking for support.
I'm simply looking for the last version that did.
I'm currently running version 4.5.0.4 which continues to pull down new definitions and updates the apps I have installed.
I'm simply asking if that's the last version that runs on Windows 7 64 bit.

I have professional experience with Windows back to Windows 3.0 with numerous Microsoft certs since. I understand the OS very well and wish to continue using it (and not have to buy a new PC every time MS releases a new version, which increasingly are data gathering tools on the user anyway).

4.5.0.4 is the last version 4 release before version 5.

It has been mentioned by PMPC that version 4 will eventually be deactivated, and will no longer provide updates.

I run Windows 10 Pro (fully patched) on the same laptop I purchased in 2011.

I'd say 14 years is a good run.

Thanks for the reply.
13.5 years on this. The only time it's blue screened was when I was fooling with a bad usb tester. No other issues and it's used daily.

I get it about deactivating updates, the number of drivers and progs I use that require 10 is increasing. I have a couple Win10 machines and one win11 (wife's home work machine) and each seems to be another step deeper into a swamp (and I know linux very well and that's maybe an option).

Greetings:

A long time user of Patch My PC (currently version 4.5.0.5), I too am running Windows 7; however, it receives security patches through a 0patch subscription.

PMPC is a very useful utility, and it will be too bad when it is no longer able to run on Win 7 machines. (Another plus is that the Win 7 versions have been portable, which I favor.)
